Softer is better: check out our new Jade Soft silicone cups!

Our innovative new Jade Soft silicone cups are quite simply the perfect cups: they’re the easiest, most flexible model to use, and they’re far more durable than rubber cups. This softer silicone means that the cups will adapt to every contour of your body – making it much easier to work on areas such as the neck – because their mouths are pliable enough to practically kiss your skin. It also means that it’s harder for them to fall off!
Jade Soft™ Silicone Cupping Set 4 cups
Jade Soft™ Silicone Cupping Set 4 cups
As opposed to rivalling rubber cups, silicone cups also feel smoother and far more comfortable. With time, the silicone will actually get more comfortable and flexible with time; with rubber cups, the material will start to flake and become dryer and more brittle with long term use. Because silicone tends to stay smooth, it also attracts less germs, which will tend to nestle in cracks in rubber.
This silicone cupping set is also transparent, making these cups safer than opaque ones. This transparency allows you to monitor the appearance of the skin, and therefore to remove cups immediately if the skin starts to look inflamed.

Advantages:
  • easier to manipulate
  • still silicone: much more durable than rubber
  • very adaptable: they practically kiss your skin
Massage therapists will find exactly what they need from our wide selection of silicone cupping sets. Silicone cups are pliable, portable, and virtually unbreakable. The flexible nature of silicone means that these cups are softer and can be moved easily, creating a more massage-like experience than traditional glass cups. Therapists are also able to adjust the level of suction by simply squeezing the cup. Transparent silicone also allows practitioners to easily monitor the client’s skin.
Silicone cupping sets can be paired with balms and massage creams to create a more relaxing experience for your clients and this combination has been known to effectively treat cellulite.

Silicone Cupping Advantages

Body Massage Silicone Cupping Set
Body Massage Silicone Cupping Set from lierre ca
Silicone cupping is exploding in popularity, whether it’s for sports massage or cosmetic treatments. Prominent celebrities and athletes have been showing off their cupping marks, and cupping classes and workshops are popping up all over North America. Practitioners are pioneering new techniques and integrating cupping into established therapeutic traditions, such as lymphatic drainage and facial rejuvenation.

How to explain this popularity? It’s simple: cupping really works.

By pulling the muscle up, silicone cups create a vacuum that is then filled with blood; this rush provides intense relief from muscle tensions, but also helps stimulate tissue regeneration. These functions mean that cups are equally useful for preventing soreness after a work-out as they are for getting rid of dark circles under your eyes.

Though based on traditional Chinese glass cups, silicone cupping can also be used for a variety of treatments that would be simply impossible with cups made out of less flexible materials. One example is massage cupping: since silicone can hug the contours of your body, it allows the cups to glide across the skin. Massage therapists have made great use of this technique!

Fractionated Coconut Oil

Fractionated coconut oil is your new health buddy!

Bon Vital Coconut Massage Oil
Bon Vital Coconut Massage Oil
Fractionated coconut oil is widely used as a base for preparing cosmetics - among other products - because it facilitates the absorption of the other oils and herbal extracts.

As its name suggests, fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the oil of the same name, from which were removed almost all long triglycerides. What are triglycerides? They’re fatty acids that tend to never travel alone: they group together in packages of three, bound by a small molecule of glycerin, forming a triglyceride. After this process of extraction, only average triglycerides remain, making fractionated coconut oil a completely saturated oil. This degree of saturation, in turn, grants the oil an extremely long shelf life. This process also activates the concentration of capric and caprylic acids, which grants the oil a boost in antioxidant and disinfectant effects.

Lierre stocks an excellent, comprehensive range of massage oils, massage gels, massage lotions and massage creams that can be used across a wide range of different practices. We’ve taken painstaking care to include natural, environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, local products, while making sure that they remained affordable enough for the average practitioner.

You’ll find anything from analgesic creams and lotions, hypoallergenic oils and skincare essentials to delightful foot creams and wonderfully scented oils in our inventory.

Silicone Cupping: for the whole family

Silicone cups are a great alternative to traditional glass cupping treatments – especially when treating sensitive patients.  And what patients are more sensitive than children?

Practitioners who find that children are more easily scare by flames, or whose skin is more sensitive, can then use plastic or silicone cups to alleviate discomfort and fears. These cups are also easier to adjust than glass cups, and come in a variety of formats – plastic and silicone cups tend to be available in even smaller sizes than glass cups. Facial silicone cups can easily be adapted to treating smaller bodies!

Benefits of treating children include instant relief from stress, tensions, nausea, aches, and agitation, while presenting no significant negative side-effects, barring an interfering medical condition. Cups can be instantly taken off the skin if ever they become uncomfortable. Silicone cups can also be used in a relaxing gliding treatment.

Tips for treating children
  • Always start with the lowest intensity of suction, and ramp it up
  • Easier said than done, but make sure that your patients don’t move too much during treatments
  • Come prepared with an assortment of smaller cup sizes

Some benefits:
  • Helps children calm down
  • Provides easy, instant relief from pains, tensions and nausea
  • Strengthens the immune system

As massage therapists will find exactly what they need from our wide selection of silicone cupping setsSilicone cups are pliable, portable, and virtually unbreakable. The flexible nature of silicone means that these cups are softer and can be moved easily, creating a more massage-like experience than traditional glass cups. Therapists are also able to adjust the level of suction by simply squeezing the cup. Transparent silicone also allows practitioners to easily monitor the client’s skin.

Can’t figure out which products to use? Children’s skin tends to be quite sensitive, and so you want to make sure that the massage oilmassage balmmassage lotionmassage gel or massage cream that you use isn’t going to contain any harmful ingredients. L’Herbier’s Bambino line is conceived with these concerns in mind; it’s been our number one recommendation in this category for the past year. Each cream is delightfully scented, with such fun aromas as chocolate milk, strawberry cupcake and apple flower.

Buckwheat Hull Pillow from Lierre

Buckwheat hull pillows are a practical, durable, ecological and therapeutic alternative to pillows made of more conventional materials. Firm and adaptive, this type of stuffing straightens the neck and vertebral column when the body is at rest, improving sleep quality.

Buckwheat hulls pillow

Advantages of using buckwheat hulls

Buckwheat hulls are hygienic and durable. They don’t need to be washed, which makes them exceptionally long-lasting; they also have anti-sudorific properties, because they allow the air to circulate freely. This characteristic also sets them apart from polyester pillows, which attract bacteria, insects and mold. Buckwheat hulls also contain a natural tannin that repels both bacteria and dust mites.

Pillow characteristics

Adjustable, comfortable and firm.
By espousing the shape of the neck, this buckwheat hull pillow allows for a better, safer sleeping position, reducing neck and back pains. Naturally hygienic and incredibly durable, it will last decades.

Everything you’ll need to provide clients with the right degree of support, right where they need it. Our bolsters come in assorted sizes, shapes and colours, making sure you’ll always have the right one, whether you’re focusing on a client’s back, their legs or their wrists. Cylindrical, demi-cylindrical, and semi-round bolsters are available in almost every size. Our hypoallergenic buckwheat pillows keep their shape longer, and they’ll be comfortable for years and even decades once broken in.

Lierre also stocks irregular shaped massage bolsters, such as ones designed for the neck and head and a practical, versatile angle bolster. We offer two different sets of full body cushions, perfect for massage during pregnancy or to accommodate people of different body shapes.

Looking to improve the quality of your sleep? Try buckwheat hull pillows!

Buckwheat hulls pillow 6"X11"
Buckwheat hulls are an amazing, versatile material: they offer incomparable support for your neck, helping you keep your spine properly aligned as you rest; they are natural and hypoallergenic; and finally, they retain heat well in the winter and keep your head cool in the summer. Unlike regular foam pillows, buckwheat hulls pillows can be kept for many years without losing their resistance. Since the buckwheat hulls are refillable, this pillow is also incredibly adjustable: it’s easy to make it as comfortable and firm as you wish. Once they've adapted to the shape of your neck and head, you'll never be uncomfortable again!

Our buckwheat hulls

Buckwheat hulls are hygienic and durable. They don’t need to be washed, which makes them exceptionally long-lasting; hulls simply need to be periodically aired out, and the cover can be machine washed. The pillows also have anti-sudorific properties, because they allow the air to circulate freely, and because they aren’t heat conductive. These characteristics also set them apart from polyester pillows, which attract bacteria, insects and mold. Buckwheat hulls also contain a natural tannin that repels both bacteria and dust mites.
Certified organic by Ecocert Canada, our buckwheat hulls are thoroughly cleaned and dusted, making them particularly appropriate for people who suffer from asthma and dust sensitivity. They are neither fumigated, nor otherwise chemically treated. Though hypoallergenic in the sense that they are unlikely to trigger most allergies, these pillows are inappropriate for people who’re allergic to buckwheat.

Pillow care

After several months of use, buckwheat hulls pillows will lose 5-10% of their volume. This is normal: pressure grinds down the hulls and compresses them. Hulls can then be refilled if necessary, and aired out and stirred to regain part or all of the lost volume. For adults, an 8cm pillow height is recommended, while for children, it’s 5cm; of course, these are guidelines, and individual experiences vary.
Linens, sheets and pillowcases - Cylinder Buckwheat Pillow Case | lierre.ca
Cylinder Buckwheat Pillow Case
To clean the pillow, air out the hulls – never put them in water – and wash the pillowcase. Hulls can be poured into a container, stirred, and left out for as long as necessary.  All of our covers and pillowcases are machine washable.
Our percale pillow covers are 80% cotton, 20% polyester. This particular material is light, breathable and silky, as well as resistant to pills and runs. The pillow case, which has a zipper for convenient removal, is made of 100% polyester: though rougher to the touch, this material is much more stain resistant than cotton, and much more durable.

Acupuncture… for the ears?

It might seem surprising, but the ear is point of interconnection between different organs in many different healing philosophies and systems. Though acupuncture-based auriculotherapy relies on ancient principles, most of its major techniques were developed in the last century in the West.  Its full range of applications is relatively massive, but its most common uses include treating pain, addiction, emotional trauma, shock and acute stress. As such, it’s been used for treatment in the military – especially as an alternative to opioids – and for disaster relief.

Ear acupuncture history
Dr. Paul Nogier, a French neurologist, and Frank Bahr M.D., a German physician, are both credited with establishing the Western foundations of this therapy in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1972, a Hong Kong physician named H.L. Wen, M.D. discovered auricular acupuncture’s application for opioid addiction, as the treatment is remarkably effective for curbing the symptoms of withdrawal. This treatment was then pioneered in a New York City rehabilitation centre in 1974, paving the way for the foundation of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) in 1985.
NADA’s important work centres on training practitioners, standardizing protocols, and advocating for increased public access to treatment. Because of their invaluable efforts, ear acupuncture has become commonplace in disaster relief and healthcare across the world. The NADA protocol remains one of the cornerstones of auricular acupuncture practice.
Dr. Niemtzow’s “battlefield acupuncture” also represents an important contribution to the field. This simplified treatment method requires the application of five needles per ear, and is majoritarily used by the United States and Chinese military both abroad – for the treatment of pain and shock – and domestically. The major advantage of this technique is that it’s relatively simple and cost-effective: practitioners only need three to four hours of training, rather than the more comprehensive program offered by NADA. This aspect of the technique is also its main drawback, as it represents a less holistic and targeted approach to various problems.
The NADA protocol especially recommends the Shen Men and Reverse Shen Men points for the trauma response and disaster relief. Their training program is however much more comprehensive, and integrates different instruments and points not covered by Dr. Niemtzow’s approach.
Other philosophies
One of the main branches of alternative medicine that concerns itself with the treatment of the ears is reflexology, which maps the part of the body to this extremity. Though similar in principle to auricular acupuncture, the connection points identified in reflexology are different from the ones in acupuncture.
Acu Relaxo Press Tack Needles
Acu Relaxo Press Tack Needles
Needles, seeds and beads
An auricular acupuncture practitioner’s main tools are very small acupuncture needlespress tacksvaccaria seeds and beads. All of these instruments are minimally intrusive, and incredibly precise. The average needle used for this purpose is the width of a hair, and will only produce a minor pinching situation.
Acu-Patch pellets
Acu-Patch pellets
Auricular beads are particularly useful for re-stimulation, and therefore they’re often recommended for patients who want to quit smoking: pressing down on the beads helps curb cravings and other impulsive behaviours. These devices work following acupressure principles; though acupuncture is more closely associated to needles, it relies more precisely on the stimulation of points along the meridians. Beads can also be replaced by vaccaria seeds, a more natural alternative.

Applications
  • Treating intense short term stress, shock and dissociation, as well as long term emotional trauma and addiction
  • Alleviates symptoms of withdrawal and stress: can be a good complementary approach to treating insomnia, fatigue, anxiety and depression
  • Has a history of use in disaster relief
  • Beads are especially useful for quitting smoking

Acupuncture: not just for pain!

One of the most common misconceptions about acupuncture is that it’s mainly used to address chronic pain. Though acupuncture certainly provides relief from such conditions, its range of applications is much, much wider.

Traditional Chinese medicine integrates a global view of health into its philosophy: healthcare, in TCM, is something that you should be practicing every day, and connects your diet, exercise routine, mental state, and your body through flows of energy. It therefore makes sense that practitioners are often able to make connections between different states that would remain invisible to individuals that are only used to a Western view of medicine.

Moving beyond symptom management, acupuncture is also to address complex medical issues such as drug addiction and physical rehabilitation. Far from static, acupuncture practices have evolved to complement Western medical practices, rather than rival them; it is an unfortunate oversimplification of history to believe that this ancient practice was developed in a vacuum, and was passed down unchanged through generations. One of the best examples of compatibility between TCM and Western practices is the widespread use of acupuncture to manage post-operative symptoms, and chemotherapy induced vomiting and nausea.

Lierre offers different types of acupuncture needles of acupuncture needles for sale, but always of the highest quality;even our uncoated acupuncture needles such as Zagu have an incredibly smooth and almost painless insertion.

We offer free shipping on orders over 69$ if you want to buy acupuncture needles from Vancouver or acupuncture needles from Toronto.

Detox Anti-Cellulite Roller and Cupping Package

Cupping and massage can both be used as a way to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Cupping is believed to release stagnant toxins in the body in traditional Chinese medicine, as well as to improve the immune system and to promote Qi circulation. Massage and cupping both temporarily increase blood circulation, giving the skin a radiant glow.

We’ve combined medium sized medical graded silicone cups, an anti-cellulite massage roller and L’Herbier’s incredibly soothing Detox gel in this package to offer people who want to get rid of cellulite a multi-layered, versatile set of strategies. You can combine the gels and balms with either the massage roller or cups for a relaxing massage, or use any of these products alone, or even one after the other, depending on how thoroughly you want to treat your skin.

Introduction

Silicone cups are used in traditional Chinese medicine treatments, in muscular trigger point therapy, for anti aging and anti-cellulite
treatments and for massage modalities including – but not limited to – deep tissue massage.

Though common in clinic settings, these cups are perfectly suited for individual use, even with minimal training; athletes and sports enthusiasts often place cups on the muscles targeted in their work outs as a part of their wind down ritual, thereby preventing tensions and aches; office workers will find them effective in preventing and relieving back pain; and people from all walks of life can enjoy their ability to rejuvenate the skin by both smoothing out its lines and lending it a health glow.

Of course, silicone cupping’s applications aren’t limited to these uses!

Applications
Smooth out the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite

Relieve muscular and articular tensions and pain

Increase blood circulation, both during treatment and immediately after

Uninhibit Qi flow and unblock stagnation

Soothe anxiety, stress and fatigue, as well as many of their somatic symptoms such as insomnia and headache

Accelerate lymphatic drainage

Clear dead skin cells and other impurities

Instructions

Make sure the surface area which you want to treat or massage is clean, and that your hands are clean as well.

First, warm the Detox gel with your hands and slowly massage the treatment area. Then, use the roller to massage the skin, making sure that plenty of blood flows to the area. Reapply the gel if necessary.

Press the silicone cup and gently place it on the body, adjusting the degree of suction as needed. Ideally, you should be comfortable, but your skin should be ever so gently lifted up.

Begin gliding the cup from the bottom of the treatment zone upward, until the skin is warmed up. Then, glide in the same direction, but in a zigzag pattern. Finally, slide the suction cup from the bottom up using a spiral gesture. The treatment should last from 3 to 5 minutes per area.

Once you are done, gently massage the skin to prevent soreness, then wash with warm water.

Thoroughly clean and disinfect the cups and roller after every use.

Cleaning Instructions

As with any medical equipment or skin care products, properly cleaning the silicone cups and roller is essential, ensuring that the equipment will remain safe, hygienic and durable tools.

For cupping massage, with oil: Thoroughly wipe the cups and roller, then clean with neutral (unscented) soap to get rid of the oil residue. Rinse with water.

For use without oil: Use disinfectant or soapy water as described in above step.

Quick cleaning: Keep mixture of 50%/50% water and disinfectant in spray bottle, and spray cups down after use. Wipe.

Note: not all disinfectants will get rid of oil residue.

Caution

Do not use on fresh cuts, bruises, or other injuries, as well as on sunburns, deep scars, rashes, or otherwise irritated or damaged skin.

Consult a practitioner if you are interested in traditional Chinese medicine treatments; do not attempt to practice on yourself without training.

Cupping treatments, especially stationary cupping, are prone to leaving marks resembling circular bruises. These marks are harmless, should not hurt, and typically will fade after 2-3 days.

Acupuncture: more contemporary than you think

When people think of acupuncture, they tend to associate it to an age-old tradition handed down largely unchanged, from generation to generation. While acupuncture’s deep roots in tradition can’t be neglected, the mental image that emerges from such assumption actually strays pretty far from reality: acupuncture is constantly evolving.

One of the primary examples of this evolution is the tool most associated to the practice; even now, pioneering companies are making improvements to the types of acupuncture needles widely available on the market, always pushing to make them more resilient, less painful, and sharper.

Another popular misconception is to think of the evolution of acupuncture as having occurred completely independently from Western medicine; in fact, even traditional Chinese medicine integrates principles of fabrication and ideas of the body into its philosophy. Rather than a competitor to Western medicine, acupuncture can be thought of as a natural complement.

Recent improvements in acupuncture include the development of a host of new techniques, ranging from cosmetic acupuncture (or aculifting) to electroacupuncture, which involves the use of stimulators.

Acupuncture needles are the most important instrument in your practice. Lierre’s selection includes silicone coated and non-coated needles, spring and copper-wound needles, Korean and Chinese needles, as well as a variety of specialized needles, including extra long needles and lancets. We aim to respond to the needs of every type of practitioner! Our acupuncture needles respond to the highest standards of manufacturing, and have met approval from the FDA, CAMDAS and CE norms

MoxibuMoxibustion and Birthing Practicesstion

As recent research is increasingly pointing to the value of maintaining strong pre- and post-birth supportive relationships between practitioners and people who are expecting, there has been a resurgence of public interest in more holistic, traditional techniques in birthing. Privileging such an approach involves conceptualizing birth and pregnancy as complex experiences, rather than narrowly as medical conditions.

Moxibustion is one of the complementary services that has become increasingly popular for managing unpleasant experiences associated to pregnancy, such as morning sickness, back pain and headaches. Of course, these services should only be administered by trained and certified traditional Chinese medicine practitioners: certain points and techniques must be avoided when treating pregnant bodies.

Moxibustion’s benefits, however, go beyond symptom management: in fact, moxibustion has proven itself to be exceptionally effective for turning breech babies, and can boost fertility. Post-birth, moxibustion can also help prevent and alleviate some of the symptoms of post-partum depression.

Used for indirect moxibustion treatments, Lierre's stick-on moxa products are reliable and easy to use. You'll find both the moxa rolls and the accessories you'll need for these treatments in our inventory!

Lierre carries both new and traditional forms of moxa and moxa accessories. You'll find aged golden moxa, tiger warmers, and a series of different types of moxa sticks, both scented and unscented, smokeless and with smoke. Our accessories include tiger warmers, lion warmers, moxa plates, moxa extinguishers, moxa needle holders, moxa spoons, moxa lighters and cleaning brushes.

Facial cupping: Massage, Lymphatic Drainage and Aculifting

Facial cupping is all the rage! It has a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating effect on the skin, and will make an excellent addition to your beauty regimen. Unlike more traditional techniques, in facial cupping practitioners never leave cups on the same area for more than a second or two at a times, since it can leave unsightly marks.

All of these treatments first involve gently applying massage oils or moisturizers on the treatment area. Try one of our facial massage creams for a soothing, therapeutic experience!

Facial massage

Using silicone cups to gently massage the face will help promote blood circulation, and relax tense muscles. It’s especially effective around the brows, eyes and jaw.
Facial Massage Silicone Cupping Set
Larger facial silicone cups are appropriate around the cheeks and jawline, whereas the smallest cups can be used around the delicate skin surrounding the eyes. Practitioners place and quickly remove these tiny cups in quick succession for flash cupping treatments, which are a more practical alternative to straightforward cupping massage.

Lymphatic drainage

Developed during the second world war, lymphatic drainage is a technique that relies on light circular movements to promote lymph circulation. The lymphatic system works to rid the tissues of waste, and bring bacteria to the lymphatic nodes where they are destroyed.

Facial cupping can be a great way of promoting lymphatic drainage; it can stimulate this system through repetitive, light circular movements that are directed towards the lymph nodes. Cupping is especially appropriate since it provides an even amount of pressure.

Aculifting
Facial Massage Silicone Cupping Set (with a brush)

Aculifting is a set of modern beauty techniques inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, which can involve magnetic masks, acupuncture needles, and yes – facial silicone cupping. Strategic massage of different zones can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and give the skin a radiant glow.

We sell cups individually and as sets, allowing you to restock your old cups as needed, to try new ones without committing to an entire set, and to sample different sizes if you’re a beginner. Our affordable sets come with all the accessories you’ll need to integrate cupping into your practice!

Glass Cupping Set 14 pcs from Lierre Canada

Glass Cupping Set 14 pcs
This glass cupping set offers all the convenience of the more common plastic sets, but stays truer to traditional cupping methods of treatment, which always relied on glass cups. This set, however, with its pump gun, does not involve the same hazards as this ancient technique, since it does not necessitate fire or heat, and it is easier both to control and to carry.  Compared to plastic cupping sets, these cups are also easier to clean and disinfect, since both chemical disinfectants and alcohol will effectively sanitize them.
14 durable and strong glass cups with a pistol grip hand pump. Carrying case included for safe and convenient storage.
Note: upon first treatment, manually open rubber tip before inserting the cup into the hand pump.
Includes:
8x diam. 5cm
2x diam. 4cm
2x diam. 3cm
